However, did you know that there is another form of dancing that not only requires you to exhaust yourself physically but also addresses your spiritual health? This type of dance is called trance dance. Trance dancing is not just another fitness trend. It has actually been practiced by many ancient tribes in various cultures. Like music and other performing arts, the earliest dance began as an imitation of nature. Different tribes believed that dancing could help them achieve a connection with the spirit world. They also believed that performing dance rituals will allow their bodies to become inhibited with other life forms such as plants, animals and even the sun and the moon. These spirits from nature will then enable them to reach clarity and empowerment. Follow the steps below if you wish to have your own trance dancing session:  The first thing you need to do before you can perform trance dancing is to prepare the space by clearing it—not just of furniture but also of negative energies. The former is easy enough to do but how do you go about doing the second task? You clear a space energetically by getting a sage stick and burning it. You can also try playing an organic instrument to prepare the space.  Put your music on. The next thing you need to do would be to play your music. There are now many available music designed for spiritual trance dancing. You can put together your own CD so you can make it as long or as short as you want. The ideal duration for a trance dance is about one hour long. Your music should start with a slow tempo that gradually speeds up to a faster pace. It should also end with a slow tempo.  Put a blindfold on. Trance dancing is performed with a blindfold so you can avoid visual distractions. Not being able to have your sense of sight will also help you focus more on the music, your movements and your inner emotions.  Take five deep breathes and five minutes of short breathing.  Express yourself through dancing. The first time you try to move to the beat of the music will probably be awkward especially if you haven&#8217;t done any spiritual dancing before. Keep breathing and connecting to the music and your emotions will eventually dictate how your body should move. The following are some of the benefits that you can enjoy with trance dancing:  It greatly helps relieve stress. If you are constantly feeling tense and anxious because of stress then you&#8217;ll be surprised at how relaxed you will feel after a successful session of trance dancing.  It helps aids with self-discovery. Spiritual trance dancing is also a good way to discover things about yourself and get to know yourself better.  It gives you feelings of freedom and happiness. If you can&#8217;t remember the last time that you&#8217;ve felt happy for no reason at all then trance dancing can invigorate you greatly.</p>
